Speeches
In term 3 we had speeches. My speech was on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It was such fun doing speeches, but I needed to add more eye contact and more expression. I think I did alright. I can't wait until next years speeches.
Science Fair
In term 2 we had the school science fair. We can either do it by ourselves or with a buddy. I decided to go with a buddy. My buddy was Rawinia and our question was, which lollies contain the most sugar? We melted the lollies in the microwave and weighed the melted lollies in a food scale. It was really cool melting the lollies.

Komodo dragon report
Have you heard about the komodo dragon before? If you
haven’t, read on.
Appearance:
The komodo dragon has hard, dry scaly skin, a strong
tail, sharp teeth, long claws and great speed. An adult weighs about 166 kg and is 3 metres long. It is 40cm long when born.
Habitat:
Komodo dragons live in the hot and dry Indonesian
Islands. The temperature of the islands is usually
80 degrees Fahrenheit.
Diet:
The komodo dragon eats birds, bird’s eggs, and mammals such as: monkeys, wild boar, goats, pigs, deer, horses and water buffalo. It takes about 15-20 minutes to swallow a goat! The komodo dragon can survive on as little as 12 meals a year!
Enemies:
Komodo dragons have no enemies. They are the strongest lizards in the world alive today! They will attack anything edible that moves and they will even attack each other!
Life cycle:
The komodo dragon’s eggs are laid and buried deep. Young dragons become arboreal (they climb trees). At 1.2cm they change to a terrestrial life style. When ready males will approach females and mate.
Lifespan:
Komodo dragons live to about 30-50 years in the wild.
Special Features:
The komodo dragon has toxic bacteria in its mouth which kills its prey. Komodo dragons have 50 sharp teeth and they lay about 24 eggs at a time.
The komodo dragon is an amazing creature that is clever at
everything they do!

Camp Rotoma
Camp
Term 1 we went Lake Rotoma and we stayed there for a week and we did lots of fun activities. We slept in tents, my favourite activity was kayaking because its fun when you jump out of the kayak or you fall out. We have two rotation of activities each day and we stop in the middle to have lunch and then at the end of our activities we go to the lake to have an afternoon swim, it was so fun having an afternoon swim. When we have had our swim we go back to our tents and change. Then we go have fun play games and at the end of every night like on the first night we did a night walk and learnt about the legends of Lake Rotoma, on Tuesday night we had tug of war, Wednesday we had the burma trail that was funny because I fell down the side of the hill and some body grabbed my foot and Thursday we had the camp concert. It was so fun at camp Rotoma and I can’t wait until next year's camp!
My Dream home
Let me take you on a tour of my dream home.
Lets go into my movie room where there is a big flat screen in the front of the room and a corner couch with a little table in front of the couch for food. There is a popcorn machine in the corner and in the other corner is all the dvds that you have ever wanted and all the latest dvds too.

Lake Rotoma Camp
The yellow sun on the beautiful
Lake I also see big tents going up.
The green large portaloos from
A mile away and the yummy food
cooking.
The heavy wind and the pounding
rain on my tent.
The hazy fresh air and the
marvellous water when you
jump in on a hot day.
The delicious healthy food
and the best food ever.
Camp Rotoma was the best
camp ever.
